It affects you if you issue invoices as a freelancer
If you are a freelancer, professional or sole trader and pay IRPF (personal income tax) in common territory (all of Spain except the Basque Country and Navarre), from 1 July 2027 all your invoices must comply with Verifactu. This deadline was extended from the original one (July 2026) following Royal Decree-Law 15/2025, of 2 December. It doesn't matter whether you invoice with Odoo, with your current software or even with Excel: the system you use to issue invoices has to be adapted.
Every invoice will carry a QR code that the tax authorities can verify. Once issued, it cannot be modified (corrections are made with a corrective invoice, just like now). It sounds complicated, but nothing changes for you day to day: you keep issuing invoices just as you always have.

Why it pays to adapt in time
Leaving VeriFactu compliance to the last minute usually turns out expensive: rushing, risk of penalties and decisions made under pressure. Adapting your invoicing ahead of time lets you do it calmly, test it and correct it if needed.
At Nextdoo we approach it as a well-defined, hassle-free process: we review how you invoice today, configure Odoo to meet the regulations and validate the result before you issue compliant invoices. As an Odoo Silver Partner, we cover the legal side so you can focus on your business.
