VeriFactu, explained in plain English
From 2027, the Tax Agency requires that any software issuing invoices in Spain does so in a specific way to prevent fraud. Each invoice must include a QR code that the Tax Agency can verify, and invoices cannot be modified afterwards.
If you issue invoices with Odoo, with your old software, or even with Excel, you must comply before your deadline. Otherwise, a fine. And they're not small: they can reach up to €50,000 per year for companies.
The good news: Odoo adapts without changing software. You continue working as usual. Only the outgoing invoice will carry the correct seal.
When is it your turn?
It depends on how you pay tax to the Tax Agency
Companies
If you have an SL, SA, cooperative, or any company that pays tax under Corporate Income Tax, all your invoices from January 2027 must comply with VeriFactu.
Solution for companies →Self-employed
If you are self-employed, a professional, or a sole trader who pays tax under IRPF, you have until July 2027 to comply with the regulations.
